Jon & Richie did an acoustic set at Wednesday night's Fundraiser (Countdown to Victory) for NYC Mayoral Democratic Candidate Mark Green. Warren Beatty & Annette Bening hosted the evening. Jewel, Mary J Blige and Mandy Patinkin also performed. Jon & Richie played "Just Older", "Prayer '94" and "Wanted Dead or Alive" before heading off to dinner and then to the Island/Def Jam party celebrating Rick Rubin and American Records joining the fold. In addition to Jon & Richie attending the party, Gwen Stefani, Moby, Redman, Ja Rule, Joey McIntyre and Michael Stipe were just a handful of the celebs on hand.
Last night, Jon & Richie attended the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards at NYC's Metropolitan Opera House. Jon & Richie arrived via limo and walked up & down the red carpet giving TV interviews. Keep your eyes open (they've already aired the quick bit done for Regis & Kelly Live) - expect footage on Extra, E!, Entertainment Tonight, etc... Jon's easy to spot in the cowboy hat. Late in the show, Jon arrived on stage with Jewel to present the award for "Best Video from a Film"... and presented it to Mya, Lil' Kim, Pink and Christina Aguilera for "Lady Marmalade" from Moulin Rouge. Then it was off to more parties. They hit the Island/Def Jam party, then the party thrown by the band's old friend, video director Wayne Isham.
Jon & Richie are already working on some new material... great things are on the horizon.
The 2001 MY VH-1 AWARDS are upon us... same deal as last year: the fans get to suggest the categories and the nominees. We KNOW you guys are quite a powerful force online. So let's get the boys nominated! BEST LIVE ACT, BEST TOUR, BEST FRONTMAN, BEST DYNAMIC DUO, SEXIEST ROCK STAR (OK, the first four are more important!...) BON JOVI deserve to have a major presence at these awards and its the FANS who make it happen... head over to www.vh1.com and let's kick some cyberbutt!

NOTE FROM JBJ
Well, hello there old friends... how are ya? I'm real good. Took a great vacation after we finished the tour but have no fear - we're already in writing mode for the next album. Richie and I were in NYC this week - we spent yesterday working on some new music and we'll be writing even more these next few weeks - back to work! Last night, we put the guitars and the pens down and headed over to the MTV Video Music Awards - we did interviews all along the red carpet so they'll turn up all those entertainment shows... Afterwards we hit some parties (trust me... the sunglasses are still on as I write this...)
So, I've been hearing lots of stories about wars between Bon Jovi fans and U2 fans out in cyberspace. Let me just say, for the record, U2 is an incredible band and I'm a fan (so are the critics...) All the U2 guys came to our Cleveland show and hung out afterwards... there's no conflict between bands (fans on the internet are another story - in fact you guys earned an article in an Atlanta paper.) I just wanted to say thank you. You guys defend us and stand by us and I'm truly appreciative of how fiercely supportive Bon Jovi fans are are... so yeah, I'm aware of what our fans do for us (kinda like Santa - I know if you've been bad or good.) I just wanted to let you know, you're appreciated.

CHECK PARTY CONTEST
On Thursday, JULY 26th, ISLAND/DEF JAM RECORDS
are hosting a SOUNDCHECK
PARTY at GIANTS STADIUM!!! This is THE place to be! This contest is open
to RADIO WINNERS ONLY however, *BACKSTAGE WITH JON BON JOVI* Giant Stadium
trip attendees have scored a limited amount of tickets for the following
WINNERS of our latest BACKSTAGE CONTEST!
Names of the winners will be posted here tomorrow.
It is your
responsibility to check to see if your name is on the list. Remember, we
asked that you enter this contest ONLY if you would be in town for the
trip and available on this date. In the past Storytellers lottery, we had
winners from many countries who did attend and some local winners who did
not. We would hate to see this happen again, so if you are a winner,
please be sure to be there.
On Thursday afternoon, beginning at 4:00pm, the
BSWJBJ Staff will be set
up in the lobby of the Embassy Suites (455 Plaza Driver, Secaucus, NJ) by
Giants Stadium. You'll need to show your BSWJBJ Membership card and one
form of photo ID so we can make sure you're the person announced and
cross-reference our rooming list to ensure you're on the Fan Club Trip.
You'll be given the pass that will gain you access into the SOUND CHECK
BBQ.
We'll post more details on the run-down of events
at the Sound check Party
however keep the following in mind: access to the venue will open at 6pm.
There is NO transportation being provided for this event; you'll need to
get to and from the stadium on our own. Again, more details will be posted
this week. You'll also receive and informational sheet when you claim your

BON JOVI on TV
Make sure you set your VCR's for this Wednesday, JULY 25th. E! (Entertainment
Television) will premiere the JON BON JOVI: CELEBRITY PROFILE at 10pm. It
will be repeated the next morning (7/26) at 11am. It
will also be on July 28 at 2pm, July 29 at 11am and July 29 at 6pm. VH-1 ROCK
ACROSS AMERICA featuring interviews and live footage from the BON JOVI show
in Minneapolis, MN debuted over the weekend. Look for chances to watch a repeat
tonight (July 23) at 8pm. It will also run on July 25 at 12am, 8am and 10pm.
Of course, the BIG SHOW is SUNDAY, JULY 29 on VH-1: BON JOVI ONE LAST WILD NIGHT. They'll film at Giants Stadium on Friday and you'll be able to relive the magic by watching it Sunday night. VH-1 has a full day of Bon Jovi programming lined up for you. At 7:00pm they'll show the BON JOVI: FAN CLUB episode. At 8:00 pm, they'll show the BON JOVI: BEHIND THE MUSIC. Then at 9:00pm, BON JOVI: ONE LAST WILD NIGHT. That's one helluva weekend. Make sure you look for the commercials on VH-1... they are SO COOL. "Bon Jovi Stadium"....
SOUNDCHECK/BBQ
Thursday night, July 26th, the band's record label is hosting a Soundcheck/BBQ.
This is a WINNERS ONLY event. ( Security will be extremely tight - please
read between the lines.) Folks are coming in from all over the globe. They'll
have a small BBQ at the stadium then go inside for a ceremony (the band are
receiving some special gifts - we'll get you those details once we're allowed
to talk about them...) and then watch the band souncheck. If you've heard
different radio stations across the country (world) talking about the Bon
Jovi BBQ, this is what it is. The band will do ALL their TV interviews that
night (so keep an eye out for footage on Friday and over the weekend, especially
Entertainment Tonight and all the local affiliates of the major networks in
the tri-state area.) There will also be a photographer capturing the event.....
keep you eyes
& ears pealed.
This is it... this is the 4th quarter... the two minute warning.. the big game... can you believe Giants Stadium is HERE already?!

Get your VCR's ready. This is gonna be AMAZING!!! And in the VH-1 commercial, they renamed the venue "BON JOVI STADIUM!" This will be THE concert(s) of the summer!
MTV has chosen a winner for their "Win A Bon Jovi Concert"
online contest. We're not at liberty here to release any information about
the winner, the hometown or the venue (MTV has to do that - it's their gig!)
but we can tell you this: the winner has already been notified. Also, there
will be
NO access to this show for anyone other than those affiliated with the winner
and MTV... sorry!
WANTED DEAD OR
ALIVE 2001
has made its debut on video networks around the world (keep an eye out for
it)... directed by Anthony Bongiovi, it's a montage of images (black &
white as well as color) from the tour - there's backstage goofing around,
celebrity cameos (Joe Elliot and Matthew McConaughey in Dublin, Steve Young
and Doug Flutie from San Jose...) and live footage from the road. Nice job,
TBJ!

So there's no confusion, here's the breakdown of times for Friday
and Saturday
Friday: Doors open at 5pm. EVE 6 goes on at 7pm. SUGAR RAY goes
on at
8pm. BON JOVI takes the stage at 9PM.
Saturday: Doors open at 6pm. EVE 6 goes on at 7 pm. SUGAR RAY

There will be commemorative T-Shirts and Posters on sale for
